Do I need to create an account?
No account, no sign-up, no email address. Just open the app and start building. Your workspace is saved in your browser's localStorage so it persists between sessions automatically.
Is my data safe? Where is it stored?
Your data never leaves your device. When you upload a file it is read entirely in your browser using the File API — nothing is sent to any server. All processing, storage, and rendering happens locally. Your data is stored in your browser's localStorage and is never shared with anyone.
What file types does it support?
Data to Visuals supports CSV files (.csv) and Microsoft Excel files (.xlsx and .xls). Most tools that export spreadsheet data — Google Sheets, QuickBooks, Shopify, and hundreds of others — can export to one of these formats.
Can I save my work and come back later?
Yes. Your projects and dashboards are automatically saved in your browser between visits. You can also export your entire workspace as a .dviz.zip file and re-import it at any time — on the same computer or a different one.
What kinds of charts can I create?
You can create bar charts, line charts, pie charts, scatter plots, and radar charts. You can also add KPI cards and text blocks. Each chart is configurable — choose your axes, grouping, aggregation method, and legend position.
Can I export my dashboards?
Yes. You can export any dashboard as a high-resolution PNG image or as a PDF document. Both exports capture the full dashboard canvas exactly as it appears on screen, making them suitable for presentations, reports, and printing.
Does it work on mobile?
The app is usable on mobile and tablet devices, though the dashboard builder experience is optimised for desktop screens where you have more room to drag, resize, and configure charts. The landing page and the workspace overview are fully responsive.
How is this different from Excel or Google Sheets?
